Lesley's background as a teacher and her love of athletics lead her to a career in fitness. After leaving teaching, Lesley began a personal training studio in her home where she works 1-on-1 with clients to help them achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. Once she completed her YTT she knew she needed to share with her community the joy that yoga provides and the vision of Engine House Yoga and Fitness took shape.

Brooke Malovic

Brooke has been exploring yoga through her own practice for many years. Looking to deepen her practice, she attended her first 200 hour training and in the process found a passion for sharing yoga with others.
​
Her intention is to offer a safe and supportive space, where students can explore and express themselves on and off the mat. She hopes her students find enjoyment in her classes through fun sequencing, music, and the use of props.

For Brooke, the best part about yoga is the connection and community it creates!

Melissa Francis

Melissa has been teaching yoga in the Brockville area for the past 7 years. She recognizes that everyone comes to their mat with different physical and emotional strengths and challenges so she encourages students to practice yoga in a way that feels good to them.
Melissa believes that yoga provides the foundation for feeling healthy and grounded in a world that can seem overly busy and stressful.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys walking in the woods (preferably with a crew of dogs), kayaking, making natural body products, and cooking foods from around the world. She looks forward to seeing you at Engine House!

Natasha began her yoga journey as a way to manage her chronic illness but quickly discovered the mind, body, and soul connection that yoga fosters. After feeling the positive benefits of yoga, Natasha became passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others manage their pain. She has also enjoyed working with seniors and individuals overcoming addiction. Natasha always leads with an open heart and the goal of making her students feel relaxed so that their wellness journey can improve their mind/body connection.

Through a lighthearted approach to teaching, Noella aims to bring her students joy, playfulness, grounding, and most importantly gratitude. Noella has a strong interest in and has studied trauma informed yoga, accessible yoga, and empowerment yoga. Her goal is to empower others to find balance in the present and to develop self love.

Alexandra has experience teaching a variety of yoga styles including Modo-Inspired Hot Yoga (previously known in Canada as Moksha Yoga), Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Power, Chair, and Flow.
Alexandra focuses her efforts on helping students develop both emotional and muscle awareness. She is an encouraging instructor who combines skillful sequencing with mindfulness practices to help get students out of their head and out of their own way - ultimately empowering them to pursue their biggest dreams and goals.

Her mission is to help people feel better in their body and spirit, and believe in their ability to achieve anything! Whether the hurdle is learning to manage anxiety, battle body dysmorphia, improve focus or develop confidence, she believes yoga is the best place to start and she can't wait to support you along your journey.

Marta honors the expansion, acceptance and peace that yoga and meditation can bring to our lives. After many years of personal practice, Marta decided to become a teacher so she can help others feel the benefits of these beautiful teachings. She has been trained in the modalities of Hatha, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Yin, Vinyasa, meditation and children's yoga.

Katka is a yoga teacher and reiki master originally from Calgary, Alberta. She is a mother of three, who has been living at an offgrid-homestead here in Ontario for the past 7 years. Passionate about holistic health, wellness, and clean living, she started her practice of yoga in 2004 as a way to heal and stay balanced after watching her mother lose a hard battle with cancer. She completed the GaiaTri 200 hour teacher training in 2014, as well as a Prenatal/Postnatal 20 hour training in 2015 and certified in Yoga Nidra in 2022. Her extensive experience and training with massage and rehabilitation has given her a unique and intuitive way of approaching the body in yoga. She likes to challenge her students, but also strives to bring a sense of calm and practical self-awareness into her classes.

Dan first discovered Ashtanga yoga in 2014 as a means to stretch out from various sports such as basketball, running and swimming. After initially focusing on just the physical movements, Dan's practice evolved to embrace breathwork and meditation, leading him to complete his Yoga Teacher Training with Astanga Ottawa in 2023.
Dan's athletic and coaching background means his classes focus on combining strength with flexibility and correct anatomical alignment. He encourages students to explore the line between comfort and discomfort during practice in order to achieve a moving meditation.

After many years of personal practice, Katie knew she had to take her YTT so that she could share the benefits of yoga with others. Sarah attended her first yoga class fifteen years ago with the intention to heal physical injuries. Her yoga mat is now a grounding, safe, and comforting space for calming the nervous system, authentic expression, and joy. Sarah offers a balanced flow of ease, strength, and restore for all levels. Steve, also known by his spiritual name Santosh, is delighted to be teaching Hatha yoga at Engine House. His yoga journey is rooted in the Sivananda tradition, and he holds a Yoga Siromani 200-hour teaching certification from the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Val-Morin, Quebec. Melissa D. has been an educator for many years and continues to work in a helping profession. She discovered yoga at Engine House Yoga and Fitness, where she gained strength, flexibility, and mobility, and was inspired to pursue her yoga teaching certification. Melissa D. believes yoga is a personal practice, encouraging students to honour their unique bodies and experiences. She creates a supportive, non-judgmental space focused on self-awareness, compassion, and well-being. Melissa D. is passionate about helping others find balance, physically, mentally, and emotionally, while exploring their limits and building confidence. When she’s not teaching, Melissa D. enjoys background acting, reading, and spending time in nature.

Seunghyang is a practitioner and teacher of Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Sivananda Yoga styles in Vinyasa (Flow) style. She practices and teaches combined traditional Yoga poses with a
scientific background. She believes Yoga is a long journey to self-care, self-aware and self-discipline. She is looking forward to guide and walk along with you on your journey.
Elise Podsiad

Elise has a love for collective movement coming from most of her life spent in competitive team sports. She started practicing yoga 10 years ago, to support her sport performance. She then began to deepen her relationship with yoga through her yoga teacher training in 2022 with School Yoga Institute. Elise continues to build a relationship with yoga through her personal practice and as she has participated in continued trainings like the Prison Yoga Project foundational training and Yoga Therapy for Anxiety with Raquel Bueno.
Elise intends to cultivate a space where yoga can be experienced both collectively and uniquely to each person. While also beginning to understand compassion for ourselves so we can begin to bring this back into our homes, families and communities.
